Brett McDermott

Brett McDermott is an Australian graduate and trained in Psychiatry and Child Psychiatry in the UK and Sydney.  His current appointment is Professor of Psychiatry at James Cook University in Townsville. Other academic appointments include By-Fellow at Churchill College, Cambridge; Adjunct Professor at QUT and Visiting Professor Shanxi University. Professor McDermott was Executive Director of a Brisbane CAMH service (2002-2015) and a Board Director of Beyondblue (2002-2016). Professor McDermott has been the Chair or member of Australian clinical practice guidelines (adolescent Depression: PTSD and Eating Disorders) and has published more than 100 journal articles, book chapters and books.
